Kittens, Kittens everywhere!! 😍🐱

We can’t resist showing off the adorable fluffy kitten cuteness that recently joined us here at Henrico Humane Society!  Each year we take in over 60 kittens just like these guys – some have mommas with them, some need to be bottle fed, some are old enough to eat on their own, some are healthy, some require lots of medical care.  The one thing they all have in common – Henrico Humane Society’s commitment to making sure that they receive whatever care they need and find a loving forever home.

Kittens stay in their foster homes for anywhere from 2 weeks to several months depending on their age and the level of care they need.  A day of food for one of these sweet little babies only costs around $1, but that adds up quickly if the kitten is in our care for a couple months.

In addition to food and litter, HHS pays for all of the medical care they need in order to get ready for their forever home.  These babies will be given a fecal test and deworming treatment, a combo test for feline leukemia and FIV, two FVRCP vaccinations, a rabies vaccine, at least one dose of flea/heartworm preventative, and a microchip, and they will be spayed or neutered.

On average a kitten will require between $250 and $300 in food, litter, and medical care, but our adoption fee is only $95.  Cash for Cats helps us make up the difference.  Because of supporters like you, we are able to rescue cats and kittens, provide them with necessary medical attention, and find them the loving forever homes they deserve.
