T-Rex, a dino-mite pup with extra special needs

Money raised by the Bark in the Park dog walk will help pay medical expenses for animals that need more than just routine care before they can be adopted, like this sweet Cavapoo named T-Rex.

T-Rex was surrendered to a vet because his family could no longer handle his medical issues. Henrico Humane Society agreed to take him in and provide him the care needed.  T-Rex has megaesophagus, or “ME”.  Dogs with this condition must eat upright and typically use a special chair like the one shown below so food doesn’t get into their lungs which can lead to pneumonia.

T-Rex’s foster mom fell in love and is now his permanent mom!  Because of the cost of his continued care, T-Rex is now a “Sponsorship” dog which means Henrico Humane Society is prepared to spend thousands of dollars to cover medical expenses associated with ME for the rest of his life.

Please help us save more animals with special needs like T-Rex by registering for the walk and/or making a donation today – no amount is too small, and every donation counts.  Thank you for your support!
