**A Blessing of the Animals by Pastor Linda and St. Francis Humane Society will occur immediately preceding the dog walk. The walk will be kicked off by:

Grab your dog and head out to Deep Run park for a day of fun!! All proceeds from the event benefit Henrico Humane Society. Start raising money now for the 2k 4 Paws Dog Walk! A minimum of $25 must be raised for each walker. Click HERE for ideas on how to raise money. You can set up your own web page HERE to solicit donations from friends and family. You could even form a "pack" of co-workers, neighbors, friends, etc. to walk together (each member of the pack would need to raise a minimum of $25). Register the morning of the event beginning at 10 am.¬Ý Cash or check only.

Walk in honor of a person or pet. Or just walk yourself - you don't need a pet to participate (in fact, dogs available for adoption will be on site so maybe you'll be able to find that special pet to bring home).

Think of all the cookies, wrapping paper and popcorns you've bought from other people - now it's your turn! Our goal for the 2k 4 Paws Dog Walk is to raise $10,000. If each walker is able to raise $100, we'll reach our goal easily! That's a lot of abandoned dogs and cats that will receive love and medical attention until new homes can be found for them!

There will be prizes for the top individual and pack fundraisers, and t-shirts will be given to the first 200 people to register the day of the event. For any questions about the dog walk or event, email barkinthepark@henricohumane.org.

Exercise is great for dogs and people, so plan on bringing your dog to Bark in the Park to have a great time for a good cause!



Additional Information:

Rain date will be September 14. In the event of rain on September 13, refer to this site to determine if the event will be moved to Sunday.
All animals must be at least 4 months old and up-to-date on their vaccinations.
All animals must be leashed or in a carrier. No retractable leashes, please.
Walk registration begins at 10:00 am. T-shirts and bandanas will be given to the first 200 walkers to check in the day of the event.
Walkers 12 years old and over must pay a minimum of $25 to participate in the dog walk. There is no charge for children under 12 or animals to walk.
