Stevie the blind kitten is now known as Nyx the library cat. She is a special girl with a great story. Nyx was born with a birth defect that caused her to have underdeveloped eyes. She was completely blind. She was found in a parking lot of a grocery store which led to a trip to a shelter. She was also born fearless and friendly. She won the sympathy of her shelter caregivers and they pled to us at Henrico Humane for help. It is hard to find homes for so many and adding her special needs made it tough. We took her into our foster program with a prayer. She would need special care, expensive surgery to remove her deformed eyes and a very special home. Nyx found that home with the staff at the Chesterfield County library. She now is a star there and has her own web site. Her happy ending is a direct result of special people giving her a chance and the donations we receive from our supporters like you. Sometimes all the homeless like Nyx need are a little help and then their loving hearts take them the rest of the way. If you would like to help us to help them please donate.
